Through a competitive bid process, The City of Ottawa awarded PCS General Contractors the Goulbourn Recreation Complex California Window Replacement project. The scope of work for the project required PCS to remove the exiting California Windows above the operating swimming pool, perform air and vapor barrier repairs and the reinstall the existing California Windows. As part of the project, PCS was to also remove portions of the existing curtain wall and perform air and vapor barrier repairs to the exterior wall. As can be seen from the pictures, the original installation was allowing hot moist air from the swimming pool to escape and causing sever rusting of any exposed metal.
PCS used several different materials including blue skin and 2 component spray foam insulation to seal the existing cavity.
